The first day at school; the adorable birthday pictures, about 2 billion photos are posted to Facebook every day and many of them include kids. But Facebook may be getting involved in some of those incredibly adorable images of your children. And in a good way. Here’s the deal: The Evening Standard is reporting that the social network’s engineering boss has said that Facebook will soon warn parents if they’re about to post photos of their children publicly.
Jay Parikh, Facebook’s vice president of Engineering, said Facebook will soon alert users if photos of family members are about to be made public. The paper reported Parikh as saying, “If I were to upload a photo of my kids playing at the park and I accidentally had it shared with the public, this system could say: ‘Hey wait a minute, this is a photo of your kids, normally you post this to just your family members, are you sure you want to do this?’”
